Every Fly Nanny Chaperone journey is unique. Whilst every destination may differ, one thing always remains the same — our unwavering commitment to providing children with a safe, reassuring and enjoyable travel experience from beginning to end.
This particular journey was especially memorable. It was an exclusive one-to-one Fly Nanny Chaperone assignment, carefully planned for an independent 11-year-old boy travelling from his residential camp in Glasgow to reunite with his parents in London before continuing their family holiday together.
For this important assignment, Flying Tots Childcare® entrusted one of our most respected Fly Nanny Chaperones, Matt Moore.
“Matt brings a wealth of experience to every journey. Alongside his work as an experienced PE Sports Coach, he serves as an Adolescent & Family Support Practitioner within the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, supporting young people and families. His calm, reassuring nature, professionalism, and ability to build trust quickly make him an exceptional Fly Nanny Chaperone, ensuring children feel safe, valued and confident throughout their journey.”
The journey began with Matt travelling from London Gatwick Airport to Glasgow, carefully planning every stage to ensure a seamless collection. Upon arrival, he travelled to Buchanan Bus Station, allowing plenty of time to reach the camp before the agreed collection time.
As always, punctuality, preparation and communication were central to the assignment.
Following the necessary identity checks and handover procedures with the camp staff, Matt warmly introduced himself to the young traveller. Taking time to chat, explain the next stages of the journey and answer any questions immediately helped the youngster feel relaxed, comfortable and confident.
With everything in place, they made their way back to the airport together.
Throughout the journey, Matt remained attentive whilst allowing the young traveller to enjoy the growing sense of independence that comes with travelling. Conversation flowed naturally, helping the journey feel more like travelling alongside a trusted mentor than simply being escorted.
Before boarding, they had time to enjoy a light snack and refreshments, providing a welcome opportunity to recharge before the next stage of their adventure.
Soon it was time to board their easyJet flight to London Stansted.
For many children, flying is one of the most exciting parts of any journey. From watching the aircraft prepare for departure to the thrill of take-off, every moment becomes part of a memorable travel experience. As the aircraft climbed above the clouds, breathtaking aerial views stretched across the countryside below before gradually giving way to the familiar skyline of London.
Throughout the flight, Matt remained close by, ensuring the youngster felt secure, relaxed and supported whilst also encouraging his confidence as an independent traveller.
After landing safely at London Stansted, the journey continued into central London.
As evening fell, the capital came alive. Passing through the city, the illuminated landmarks, vibrant West End and beautifully lit streets created a spectacular welcome to London. For a young traveller, it was a magical way to end an already exciting day.
Their destination was the world-renowned “The Savoy Hotel, where an emotional family reunion awaited.
The youngster’s mother was delighted to receive the message confirming that her son had arrived safely. Within moments, he was reunited with both his mother and father as they came together to continue their holiday as a family.
